How to Install WordPress Plugin?
WordPress plugin is a piece of software containing a group of functions that adds new features to your WordPress site or expands existing functionality on your site.in this article we want to show you how to install plugin in three methods.
there are lots of plugins in the WordPress Plugin Directory. Each plugin listed there is available for download as a zip file you can upload to your WordPress site.
Automatic Plugin Installation
- From dashboard menu Navigate to Plugins > Add New.
2.Following that, you’ll see a screen similar to the one seen in the screenshot so type the plugin’s name or the features you’re searching for to find it. Then you can click on plugin title and in the following page installation instructions, plugin documentation, or other relevant details are mentioned
3.Click the Install Now button to install the plugin.
4.Click Activate to activate the plugin.
Admin Plugin Upload
The WordPress plugin directory does not have paid WordPress plugins. The first approach will not work with these plugins.If you have a zip file of the plugin, you can upload and install it manually via the Plugins admin panel.
1.Go to WordPress admin area and visit Plugins » Add New page.
2.After that, click on the ‘Upload Plugin’ button on top of the page.
As below form, you need to click on the ‘Choose File’ button and select the plugin file you downloaded earlier to your computer
After you have selected the file, you need to click on the ‘Install Now’ button
After the installation is complete, you will see a progress message similar to this. To use the plugin, click the ‘Activate Plugin’ .
Manually Install a WordPress Plugin using FTP
Your WordPress hosting provider can have file restrictions that prevent you from installing a plugin from the admin area.
You must be familiar with using a FTP client to pass files for this procedure to work.
Warning: If you install a WordPress plugin which is incompatible with the current version or from an untrustworthy source, this process can put your site at risk. Before continuing, make a full backup of your website.
1.Unzip the contents of your plugin if it’s in the form of a zip file. A single folder named after the plugin should appear.
2.Connect to your WordPress server with your FTP client.
Note : If you don’t know your FTP username or password, you can ask your WordPress hosting company.
3. Once connected, you need to go to the
/wp-content/plugins/ folder on your website .Next, upload the folder you extracted from the zip file to the
/wp-content/plugins/ folder on your web server.
After that, you need to visit the WordPress admin area and click on the Plugins link in the admin menu. You’ll see your plugin successfully installed on the plugins page
4.Click on the Activate link below the plugin to start using it.
